From August 30th to September 1st, the Fourth Enlarged Meeting of the Sixth Council of the China Leather Association will take place at the Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel. This significant event will bring together vice presidents, standing directors, and members from production, management, and research institutions across the country’s leather industry. Representatives from local leather associations and chambers of commerce, as well as officials from party committees, local governments, and relevant administrative departments in key leather regions, will gather to discuss the future direction and development strategy of the industry.

This meeting is particularly important in the context of the post-International Financial Crisis era, as global economic trends continue to improve and China's economic recovery becomes more stable. With preparations for the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" underway, the domestic and international economies are gradually recovering, and market demand is steadily rising. The leather industry has also seen a positive trend in production and trade, but challenges remain. Deep-seated structural issues continue to emerge, making it essential to adjust the industrial structure and shift toward more sustainable development models. This task has become a critical milestone for the long-term growth of the industry. Industry leaders, experts, and enterprise representatives will be invited to analyze macroeconomic trends, promote the implementation of the "Light Industry Adjustment and Revitalization Plan," and set clear goals for the leather industry’s development during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, ensuring a balanced, coordinated, and sustainable future for the sector.

During the conference, the results of the "2nd National Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Environmental Innovation Award in the Leather Industry," jointly organized by the China Leather Association and the China Textile & Trade Textiles and Garment Trade Union, will be announced in a grand ceremony. The event will also feature the presentation of the "2010 Leather Logos? Tofu Cup China Shoes Design Contest" Gold Award and the Best Annual Professional Award, sponsored by China Group. Additionally, special ceremonies will highlight regional achievements in industrial restructuring and development model transformation. As part of the expanded meeting, the World Leather Industry Cooperation and Development Forum, which has been held for three consecutive years, will be officially renamed the International Forum for Paper Industry. The 4th International Paper Industry Forum for 2010 will take place on August 31st, with the theme focusing on the low-carbon strategies of the leather industry.

In addition to the main sessions, the conference will organize visits to the "2010 China International Leather Exhibition," "China International Footwear Exhibition," and "China International Bags, Tanning Clothing and Apparel Exhibition." These activities aim to provide a platform for communication among participants and to foster more business opportunities and collaborations within the industry.
