From March 26th to 28th, 2015, designer Jiang Xi and her own independent accessory brand “CICI CHEUNG Xie Shang” held a new product preview of the autumn/winter 2015 series in the Beijing 798 Art District and Hall. He photographed the embroidered maidens behind the “Cihecheung Hee-Shang” brand “Ruan” series. A group of large pieces pay tribute to the embroidered maidens, just as Hermès pays tribute to their artisan-like craftsmen.

Jiang Xi recalled the scene at the time: “Because our presence, embroidered maidens were deliberately put on costumes, we captured their simple portraits, and the bright and beautiful finished products are home to the embroidered maiden. The barren places of the place have formed a strong visual contrast and impact.” The Yao ethnic group in the eight platoons in the south has a history of more than one thousand years since the Song Dynasty. They have migrated from the north due to war and discrimination. They have their own language but they do not have it. Most of his own writings rely on Yao Song and Yao Xiu to record history. Therefore, Yao embroidery has accumulated national culture and is full of mystery. It is full of historical charm. However, many young people are now out of Yaoshan, the original embroidery habits are slowly diluting, fewer and fewer embroidered mothers, Yao embroidery techniques gradually lost! Culture is losing!

Jiang Xi thought that what should be done to retain these cultures was the first chance to do this thing. It was also a coincidence. As early as the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake, Jiang Xi was received by Jet Li and he planned to “help the embroidery”. The invitation to the project helped the Qiang embroiderers to develop some products so that they could survive, but at that time they were still biased towards traditional small products. Jiang Xi was thinking of such a good Chinese cultural heritage and could only be reflected in these relatively inexpensive small products. In the midst of this, she took the first series and launched the “CICI CHEUNG Hee Shang” brand, which was registered in Italy in 2007, to connect with the embroidered mothers who still retain traditional craftsmanship. He hopes to use his years of Chinese and Western learning. Practical experience has helped China's traditional culture and handicrafts to continue and develop, applying Chinese traditional culture and handicrafts to the higher end, more innovative and more contemporary fashion products line. In the tradition of returning to life and regaining fashion, embroidered mothers also have more job opportunities.

Nowadays, when we are pursuing the craftsmanship and aesthetics of Western brands, will we be able to go back and pay tribute to the fine craftsmanship and culture that have been handed down to us for thousands of years? The history of arts and crafts, the aesthetics of aesthetics, the degree of exquisiteness, and the sense of culture are all not under the West.
