I feel like the kid who just got handed the keys to the car! Taking over the Oliver + S blog, especially for the Weekend Links post, is always such an exciting experience.
As the weather here in Melbourne starts to cool down, I’m embracing my favorite season for layering—tights, boots, jackets, and all the cozy things. And lucky for me, Me Made May feels less daunting when you're already wearing multiple handmade items at once. At least one of them is bound to be me-made!

I've been busy sewing for my kids, who seem to grow taller every day, but I’ve recently taken on a unique sewing challenge. A New Yorker, now based in Melbourne, needs a tuxedo, and I’ve volunteered my services. His measurements are unlike anything I’ve encountered before...
I’ve spent hours researching different styles to find what will suit him best. I imagine him a bit like Woody Allen—classic, understated elegance.

With leaves falling in our street, I’ve been reminiscing about the incredible art of Andy Goldsworthy.
The warm orange tones remind me of these gorgeous shorts. The lustrous satin fabric elevates a simple pair of shorts into something truly elegant for children. While I might skip the oversized bow, I think a Lisette Butterick B6183 cream top paired with orange Soho Shorts would look fabulous on anyone, regardless of age.
Rhubarb is one of my favorite vegetables—it’s so versatile for desserts! This rhubarb and custard pie is simply stunning. Whenever I come across color palettes inspired by food, I’m reminded of French artist Sophie Calle, who once performed by eating only foods of specific colors on certain days of the week. Here's her "orange day."
Back to sewing, I adore this outfit Nicole put together for her daughter: puppet show shorts, a vintage puff-sleeve shirt, and a knitted vest. It’s effortlessly stylish and adorable. It reminded me of our national news anchor, Lee Lin Chin, whose fashion sense is as bold as her wit.
If I ever had the space and time, I’d love to renovate the interior of a vintage campervan. Assuming someone else could handle the mechanics, it sounds like a dream project.
Macramé is making a comeback, and I’m loving it. Bold macramé jewelry is fantastic, but the delicate micro macramé using fine threads and jewels is breathtaking.
If I had the wall space, I’d love to create a larger hanging piece. And how wonderful that owls still hold a special place in modern decor!
